Addiction as a spiritual disease

What’s the remedy for the spiritual nature of addiction? A shift in consciousness. And what’s the spiritual cause of addiction?  Our human forgetfulness.  Here, we invite you to take inspiration on how to treat addiction as a spiritual disease. And to get started on addiction spiritual healing.  We invite your feedback and comments at the end.

A word to the addict: You Are Loved

“The enemy comes but to kill, steal, and destroy.” John 10:10

He will rob you of your identity and self-esteem through addiction. He doesn’t want you to know who you are: a child of God who’s infinitely loved! When you get a deep revelation of this truth you’re powerful and know the devil in hell can’t keep you from your divine destiny. This is why the enemy will use every tactic to bring you down. He knows just how much power is in you. After all, you have inherited your Heavenly Father’s characteristics, but perhaps you haven’t read the will yet: the New Testament. Check out the books written by the Apostle Paul; you’ll understand how much you are loved and who you truly are.

Bible verses for the addict

Pray that your Heavenly Father will help you receive this most powerful truth that will set you free: you are loved more than any earthly parents could ever love their child. We are told though out scripture of God’s undying love for us:

“For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope”” Jeremiah 29:11, NLT

“How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand…” Psalms 139:17-18, KJV.

“See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands” Isaiah 49:16, NLT.

“But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows” Luke 12:17, KJV.

How precious are these scriptures! God loves us so much that He has written our names in the palm of His hand. I am reminded of the puppy love of a schoolgirl crush: so in love with the boy in class that all she does is constantly think of him. Our Father loves us immensely—he is so enamored with us that He writes our names on His hand! Think of that next time you are craving a fix. Let that fill your soul. The above verses also tell us that God thinks of us constantly and pays great attention to the details of our lives. You must know He doesn’t want you to continue to succumb to the enemy’s dreadful addiction strategy to keep from His presence.

How to treat the spiritual disease of addiction

Although nothing can ever separate you from the love of God, when you focus on the addiction, God then becomes miniscule; you don’t know He’s there with you, but He always is. All the negativity surrounding your quest for the next fix blocks the reception of the love that He constantly transmits to you! Next time you focus on the craving of your drug of choice immediately shift your focus on His love for you!

It is because of who He is, not who you are or what you have done or haven’t done, that results in the blessing upon your life. He loves you beyond measure and wants to bless you for eternity. Believe it, know it, and get it firmly planted as the seed drops from your mind into the fertile ground of your heart, which is your transformation center—then His grace will flow like a tidal wave into your life. Magnify His love, and His love will forever surround you like the universe surrounds the Milky Way.

Affirmations for addicts

I am the child that God loves! Knowing this creates stability, power, and a sense that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! Keep repeating it. “I am the child that God loves.” Say it until it becomes alive in your spirit. Saturate the atmosphere with this profound truth and see how your world will change!

I now realize that God was waiting for me; He was always waiting for me to come to Him, just as He is waiting for you to come to Him. He is our sweet Abba Father with His arms wide open. Go! Run! Jump into His arms. He will catch you and give you love like you never experienced because you are the child that God loves.

I believe that it is the manifest destiny of mankind that God has placed us here to experience joy in our lives. Joy does not mean happiness, happiness is fleeting but joy is our eternal destiny

LOL! Spare the rod, and spoil the child Psalm 23. Exodus 11 And every first born in Egypt shall be slain by me. From the oldest son of the Pharaoh, to the newborn babe of the lowest of his slaves. Deuteronomy16; And the Lord, your God is a jealous God. He lives among you and watches and his anger will burn against you. He will destroy you from the face of the land. I could go on and on. I love the Bible. I like Christianity, and I am a Christian. But lets face it. Unless you pick and choose and lie to yourself, the description of the Lord isn’t all carrot no stick.

What happens if you are a Muslim and don’t believe Jesus is the son of God and died for your sins…why is established religion the be-all and end-all to spirituality? The 12 – step programs take pains to try to be nominally “inclusive” but their “higher power” is only ever the Christian God, and all other interpretations are tolerated with a kind of forced patience and forbearance.

For that matter, what happens if you are an atheist who knows for sure that no “higher power” no matter how powerful that particular force in the natural world may be, is ever intelligent and all-seeing enough to make the preposterous notion of knowing everyone’s thoughts as reality, If God really knows everything, he who not put us thropugh a very human torture test of knowing our nature but trying to prove that 1 in 1000 will “choose the right path”. Man in God’s image indeed.

Sadly, because we need spirituality, not just addicts but this whole impoverished soul of hukmankind – but instead we are shoved religion down our throats and to disagree – well, it wasn’t all that long ago that thinking for yourself led a person (especially if female) to be burnt at the stake.

Maria, since you know the Word, then you know that when you fully receive Jesus and are truly transformed, you become a new creature in Christ. (2 Cor 5:17) God’s anger in the Old Testament has been satisfied when Jesus went to the cross and became a curse for us by taking all things upon Himself. (Rom 3:24-26). You have to rightly divide the word between the two covenants and know who was speaking to whom. God IS Love and He is just. Because God is just, He knows in His infinite wisdom, His children have been influenced by the enemy to be led astray, but when we accept His son, He wants to restore us. This is one of His great promises. (Joel 2:25-28) His love for us is certainly not something to be laughed at or taken lightly. When we surrender to Him and make Him the Lord of our lives, He blesses us greatly. When we saturate our world with Him, His love surrounds us. God inhabits the praises of His people. (Psalms 22:3) When we have an intimate relationship with Him, His favor is upon us just as it was with Joseph in the book of Genesis. God was always with him and took him from a pit to a palace. This is my experience and I know without a doubt that this is truth. I live it every day. I pray that your faith in Jesus and His redemptive power will become a deep revelation in you. We are living under the New Covenant – the dispensation of grace. Jesus! He is grace (John 1:17) and He loves us more than we can comprehend. I have great faith. This is what pleases God the most. My faith is in my savior who makes me brand new every day. When I fall, there He is to lift me up again because it’s not my works, but His sacrifice which sets me apart and makes me Holy. (Eph 2:8-9). He restores me in every way and I am loved immensely and so are all of His children who fully receive Him and believe in the power of who He is and what He has done for us. “According to your faith, be it unto you.” Matthew 9:29

I think drug addiction is not a disease ..We have to guide, educate & rehabilitate these youngsters and if we succeed in doing so, we can easily fight with drug addiction in society … I strongly feel if we change the subconscious mind of these addicted people , we can easily overcome this scenario..
